Poker Tables

Poker chips have been used for many years as tokens that stand for actual monetary values. Instead of using the real coins, such as quarters, half dollars, or dollars, to bet, poker chips of certain colors are designated as certain amounts. Long time ago, poker chips were made by using the clay, but most of the poker chips nowadays are in fact a compound of several materials to make them much more durable than those made of clay alone. Most poker chips are made of some natural material of different types, such as sand, chalk, or clay, in part, but the rest is artificial material to help the poker chip to maintain its shape and last for a long time. Most home sets of poker chips include the colors red, white, black and blue.

Poker tables are perfect pieces of furniture manufactured for both domestic and casino use to play poker. A poker table is a good-looking addition to a poker room in the house where people often play poker. Folding, pedestal, and full furniture poker tables are the common types, used in homes. Casino poker tables are bigger in size and can contain more players, unlike home poker tables. Poker table can also have an additional security box for holding attached cash. The most common type of poker table can house 8-10 players around an oval, round, or octagon shaped playing surface. Poker tables are normally manufactured by using hardwood, such as red oak and cherry. A combination of wood and hard rubber can also be used for constructing poker tables.

The poker tables are lacquered, hand-rubbed, and polished for a better look and feel. Some models of poker tables have foldable or adjustable legs for easy storage. In some poker tables, chip, cup holders and armrest are also offered for ease. In addition, there are flip-top poker tables that have a flat hard surface on one side and a betting surface on the other. The poker tabletops are typically enclosed in soft velvet-like cloth. Modish cloth and fine vinyl, that compliments the decoration of the poker room, can be used to cover these poker tables. Billiard felt and faux suede are also used for padding. Removable and foldable poker tabletops, designed to fix on top of any kitchen or patio table, are available in the market. Poker tables are not much expensive and easily available in the market at reasonable prices.
